How to manage allergen information in a restaurant menu
Add the restaurant’s allergen information to dishes and display it in the digital menu alongside the other details of your offering.
Allergen information in restaurant menus
In a restaurant menu, selected allergen information can be linked directly to each dish. When published by the restaurant, it appears beside the same item’s name, description and price without requiring customers to open a separate page.
How to indicate allergens for dishes
In the Classic Menu builder, the restaurant opens the dedicated selector and uses checkboxes to assign one or more allergens to a dish. The available list includes gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soy, milk, tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin and molluscs.
A separate “Gluten-free” indication is also available as an additional option, distinct from the standard allergens. Selections are saved for the individual dish and can be updated from its edit form.
Allergen information in a digital menu
On the Classic Menu public page, a dish can include its name, description, price, photograph and allergen information. Completed allergens appear below the text details as labels; when selected, “Gluten-free” uses a separate label. The same information can also appear in the PDF generated from the menu.
View menu allergen information from a smartphone
Customers can open the digital menu in their smartphone browser and view the information published by the restaurant for each dish. If the restaurant shares the page through the menu QR code, the same link also provides access to the names, descriptions, prices and allergen details in the updated version.
Allergens and multilingual menus
Classic Menu translations cover dish names and descriptions, while allergens remain shared codes linked to the original item. On the public page and in the PDF, the system converts those codes into labels in the displayed language. For example, the translated dish name is accompanied by allergen names in the same available language.
Allergens in the Daily Menu
Daily Menu dishes can also have one or more standard allergens. In this builder, “Gluten-free” has a separate checkbox; on the public page it appears with the dish’s other information, while the PDF uses the label corresponding to the document language.
Allergens in the wine list
The wine list builder lets the restaurant assign the available indications to an individual wine. Once selected, they appear in the public wine list using the active language and can also appear in the PDF beside the wine’s other public information.

Names, descriptions, prices and allergens can be collected in the same digital menu using the information entered by the restaurant. The tool lets you publish and update these details, but it does not replace verification of information about ingredients and dish preparation.
